Fermentation media for yeast

The media composition for yeast fermentation are presented, both for rich and mineral/defined medium.


Yeast S. cerevisiae

                                                        Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae



A. Rich medium for yeast (YPD)

  • 10 g/l yeast extract
  • 20 g/l bacto peptone
  • 20 g/l glucose


B. Mineral medium for yeast
